Lead alloy uniface token of post medieval date. The upper face of the token is decorated eight raised ribs which expand from the mid-point of the token forming an irregular overlapping cross and saltire shape. Between some of the ribs are single pellets. The reverse is plain and undecorated although it does has a slight circumferential ridge. The metal is a mid cream grey colour with a well formed surface patina. Diameter: 28.2mm thickness: 2.4mm Weight: 5.62 grams

A complete pierced Post Medieval copper alloy Taunton farthing trade token, dated 1667. Obverse description: A capital letter T under a tun/cask, two roses flanking the base of the T. Obverse inscription: A • TAVNTON • FARTHING Reverse description: Taunton castle. Reverse inscription: BY • THE • CONSTABLES • 1667 • A hole measuring 2.5mm in diameter is punched through from the reverse (castle side) to the obverse. The token is a shiny brassy colour (caused by the coastal mud) and has a worn and pitted surface.

A complete copper alloy post medieval sailmaker's palm guard, or palm iron. The object is circular in plan (33.4mm diameter) with three drilled lugs protruding 5.4mm from the edge. The back of the object is flat, and the front has a flat rim with a central area that is slightly recessed and gently concave. The lugs are roughly equidistant. A complete cast copper alloy 'S'-shaped belt hook or strap fitting of Post-Medieval date (AD 1650 - AD 1900). The two terminals are in the form of a snakes head and tail. The head is turned back to form a loop whilst the tail is open forming the hook. The central part of the fitting has punched decoration comprising C shaped stamps which overlap applied by hand rather than machine. This is applied to both faces and represent scales. An incomplete copper alloy Post Medieval sword belt fitting, dating from around the 16th - 17th century. The object consists of a flat plate with a tri-lobed top and a foliate incised design to the surface. At the bottom of the plate is a hook with a rounded terminal. A cast copper alloy post medieval belt hook / strap fitting AD 1450 - 1650. The plate is heavily corroded and eroded and much detail has been lost. The strap fitting is broadly triangular in form - from the lower edge projects a blunt ended hook which has been cast in one piece and rolled to shape its current form. Medieval copper alloy three piece strap-end with forked spacer, this form of strap-end is known to have been produced from the late 13th to the early 15th century (Egan 1991), but most occur in 14th century contexts. The strap-end is composed of two tongue shaped copper alloy sheet plates with a rounded outside edge, divided by a cast forked spacer with a terminal knop. The terminal has a collar and resembles an acorn. The strap-end was secured by two rivets positioned near the attachment edge. No decoration is evident on the surface of the plates.

Near-complete Late Anglo Saxon stirrup strap mount, probably of 11th century date. The stirrup is unusual with a beast's head protruding downwards from the base of the mount (23mm deep). One other example with a protruding head has been recorded from Stoke Hammond, Bucks (Williams D., 1997, no. 383, p84). Features on the head are now difficult to discern, but the cast decoration appears to depict a snarling snout with four sharp teeth protruding from the underside. Cast biconical decorated lead spindle whorl. Spindle whorls are difficult to date, but the location of this find in the vicinity of a Medieval site and other Medieval finds may suggest a Medieval or early Post Medieval date. The whorl is decorated with a number of raised dots near the rim of each face (11 and 13). The surface is eroded, but there is a suggestion of low radiating lines along the face through the dots. The whorl has suffered some damage to the edge.
