Both the retouch and utilisation are on the ventral surface of the flake. The dorsal surface displays evidence of core-preparation abutting the striking platform. The piece has three ribs; one central rib and one each side, one of the side ribs is more pronounced than the other two ribs. The fragment begins to expand past the ribbed area and this section seems to be defined by an incised line at each end, and contains punched chevrons and diamonds, possibly originally filled with black enamel. This end possibly has an area with a concave profile, possibly suggesting the recess to take a pin for a hinge.
