A button comprising a shallow dome with a hollow back and a round integral loop which has a corroded iron attachment. The button is decorated with the head of a monarch made up with punched arcs and circles and incised lines. Behind the head are three arms of a cross. The circular frame is made from punched circles.

A copper alloy furniture fitting which is post-medieval in date. The object is a drop handle consisting of a sub-rectangular curved plate with a loop at one end and dividing into a fork at the other. It is 40mm long, 23.5mm wide and 4mm thick. The loop is sub-rectangular. The end bar is slightly wider then the loop itself. The loop is attached to the handle by a narrow neck. Cast copper alloy two piece buckle of later post-medieval date (1660 - 1720). The frame of the buckle is sub-rectangular in plan (rectangular with rounded corners), and bowed in profile. The frame has been drilled to allow for a central iron axis bar through which the pin and strap-end would be fixed. The iron axis bar is missing has been lost – presumably through corrosion as large amounts of concreted orange (iron) corrosion is present on the frame close to the drilled holes. It is 8.5mm wide when it is a single strip, when it splits into three it widens to 23mm. The central strip follows the line of the ring, the two exterior strips are at 45degrees to this. An incomplete cast copper alloy double looped trapezoidal shoe or knee buckle with a drilled frame for a separate spindle, dating to the Post Medieval period, between AD 1650 – 1750 (length: 48mm; width: 26.5mm; thickness: 5mm; weight: 14.2g). A cast copper alloy pipe tamper of post-medieval date. The pipe taper is in the form of an sleeved arm and hand holding a hammer, poised ready for use. It measures 56.3mm by 31.9mm by 7.6mm and weighs 15.7g. Hammers and arms/hands (often with clenched fist or holding scrolls) are quite common forms for pipe tampers, but this example is unusual in that it combines both.

An incomplete cast copper rowel spur of probable seventeenth century date. The end of one arm and the rowel are missing and in its current state the spur measures 120.6mm by 67.3mm by 12.7mm and weighs 71.4g. The surviving terminal is in the form of a figure-eight, with one corrosion filled loop in line with the arm and the second set perpendicular. A complete cast copper alloy suspension mount of probable Post-Medieval, seventeenth century date (AD 1600 - AD 1700). Length 42.7mm, width 16.1mm and 1.7mm thick. Weight 4.88g. The mount has a lozenge-shaped plate with a suspension hook integral with its lower part. The plate is slightly convex at the front and flat at the rear. Copper alloy leg of a post-medieval skillet or pipkin, a cauldron type vessel with 3 legs. The object is anthropomorphic in style, representing a human leg and foot. The leg is triangular in section. Above the foot is a protruding lip, the foot is then flat on the floor. A leg of the same style was found in York and dates to the late 15th- early 16th centuries (Ottaway and Rogers; 2002; 2809-10) but similar styles continued until around the 18th century.

A copper alloy button which is probably eighteenth century in date. The button is of two piece construction with a hollow onion shaped dome and a separate wire loop. It is 8.4mm in diameter and 16mm thick. Similar examples can be seen on page 80 of “Buttons and Fasteners” by Gordon Bailey. The button is in very good condition and has a dusty grey and light green patina.

Copper alloy jeton of the rose/orb series (Mernick and Algar; 2001; 247/8). This type of jetton dates from the 16th through to the 17th century and are popularly called stock jettons (ibid). The obverse is completely worn/corroded away. The reverse has a double trilobe which contains a reichsapfel (imperial orb- an orb with a cross on the top). None of the inscription can be seen on either side as it has totally worn away. A similar example can be seen on page 259, no. 264 (Mernick and Algar; 2001). This jetton has been pierced, perhaps for use as a pendant.

Copper alloy tudor dress hook which has a central circular boss, a trapezoidal loop and a hook. The dress hook is complete except that the very end of the point of the hook has broken off. The hook tapers from the bottom of the central boss. The circular, central boss is decorated with a moulded flowerhead. The loop at the top of the boss is trapezoidal.

Cast copper-alloy seal matrix of post-medieval date. The object is conical and octagonally facetted; there is a loop for suspension at the top with the remains of an iron chain in the loop. The surface of the die, on the underside of the matrix, has been gilded, and has a well-defined pattern of criss-cross grooves. Despite the gilding, and the anonymous, impersonal nature of the pattern, it is still likely that this object is a personal seal matrix. A similar seal matrix can be seen on the database at LVPL-5824C1.
