A cast copper-alloy strap end of the Early Medieval period. A Thomas type A strap end dating to the 8th-11th centuries. The strap end is corroded to an extent that most decoration is obscured. However, two rivet holes are visible on the upper face at the split end and the mouse head terminal retains a little detail. The basic outline of the central panel is also visible, as well as a beast's leg in the panel. The back is undecorated. The split end is infilled by corrosion and soil.

Two incomplete medieval copper alloy possible strap-ends, "folded sheeting with wide gaps at the folds" (Egan and Pritchard 1991, 158-60), both tapering towards the attachment edge and with no decoration present, 13th - 14th century: - almost all of one half missing, two rivet holes near the attachment edge, length 32.5mm, width 17.1 - 15.6mm. - part of one half missing, two rivet holes arranged longitudinally, one probably replacing or reinforcing the other, length 20.5mm, width 10.5 - 10mm.

A complete copper-alloy medieval circa 14th century strap end. Rectangular in shape with a rounded terminal end with a small projecting knop in its centre. Measuring 21.40mm in length and 13.26mm in width. There are two opposing copper-alloy rivets, one through the centre of either end. The strap end is filled with soil but probably has a sheet spacer occupying its whole width.

The strap end comprises a flat plate, the upper surface of which is decorated with a series of incised triangles filled with niello. At the attachment end the plate splits in two to accommodate the strap; there are two rivet holes with iron rivets in situ. The terminal is zoomorphic with eyes and ears rendered as cast decoration. The strap end measures 40mm in length and 7mm in width. At the attachment end it has a thickness of 5mm.

A fragment of a copper-alloy strap end of probable late 13th to early 15th century AD date. Only one plate survives from what would originally have been a composite strap end. The plate is shield-shaped, tapering slightly in width from the horizontal top edge to the horizontal bottom edge. The upper surface of the body of the strap end possesses a rectangular decorative panel with a grooved ?foliate pattern. The grooves are filled with silver or niello. Above this panel is a further semi-circular grooved pattern with lines radiating from it. At the attachment end the strap end splits in two and possesses two circular perforations. Medieval strap end. Incomplete composite three piece strap end with forked spacer. Only the forked spacer survives. Cast in copper alloy the spacer is tongue-shaped with an acorn knop. The ends of the spacer are broken and bent. The acorn terminal is comprised of a raised collar before a cross-hatched cup holding the acorn. The spacer has a very dark green-black patina. It is 44.81mm long, 16.95mm thickm 5.44mm thick and weighs 6.22 grams. Sililar to Egan & Pritchard 1991, p144 figure 675.

A copper alloy probable strap end fragment. The object is a thin plate, probably one plate from a composite strap end, which is sub-rectangular with one broken end and the other end rounded. The terminal fragment of a copper-alloy strap end most likely to be late early medieval or Viking Age in date. Of Gabor Thomas type E, 900-1100 AD in date. The rest of the strap end is now missing due to an old break. The strap end is tongue-shaped, with a tapering rounded terminal end, it measures 18.66mm in surviving length and 25.15mm in width. It is open work and the front face is moulded, there are five surviving openwork roughly oval-shaped holes through the terminal and around them curvilinear grooves.

A copper alloy strap end dating from the tenth or eleventh century. The strap end is sub-rectangular with one end rounded (tongue shaped). It is 33.7mm long, 17.7mm wide and 4.7mm thick. There is a raised rib or band along the centre longitudinally. This feature defines it as fitting into Gabor Thomas's Class E Type 3 in his classification of Late Anglo-Saxon and Viking-Age strap-ends. Medieval two-piece sheet copper alloy strap-end, triangular in shape with a tiny pointed knop (1mm in length) projecting from the closed end. The strap end measures 27.8x(max)15.6mm and weighs 1.93g. At the open end a single rivet in the centre holds the two plates together. There is another rivet at the closed end. The closed end is slightly curved. A piece of textile survives intact between the two sheets. In colour it is a light beige, its weave is quite thick. Probably 13th/ 14th century in date.

A slightly damaged copper-alloy strap-end of middle to late Early-medieval (Anglo-Saxon) date. This piece is classified as a Thomas type A strap-end (G. Thomas; 2003). The heavily stylised decorative content suggests that it may be a late example of the type. The object as a whole is roughly eliptical in form. The open attachment end consists of two thin plates with a central space for the now-missing leather strap. Probably an incomplete cast copper alloy Anglo Scandinavian Early Medieval strap end. Only the terminal of the bifurcated strap end survives as the plates split just above the terminal and are truncated at this point. Only an incomplete rivet hole survives on one face. The urnes style moulded zoomorphic animal head terminal is the same on both faces and has rounded ears, ring and dot eyes and a rounded snout with a ring and dot in the centre. The surviving length is 27.6mm, the width is 9.4mm, the thickness is 7.1mm and the weight is 6.52g.

Fragment of copper alloy medieval strap-end, consisting of part of the upper (decorated) plate only. It measures 25.2x(max)21.4mm and weighs 2.68g. The open end has a circular aperture at the centre and two in situ rivets either side. On the reverse there is much corrosion around these. The strap end narrows to a recent-ish break 16.2mm in width. The fragment is decorated with a groove running along the centre of the strap-end.
