A flint tool, taking the form of a serrated blade, probably dating from the Late Mesolithic to the Neolithic period, c. 7000-2351 BC. The blade is made from a tertiary flake of mid grey flint with a band of darker grey cutting diagonally through it. It is an elongated leaf shape in plan, and is slightly concave on one side and convex on the other. The dorsal face has a ridge running lengthwise slightly off centre. Complete Prehistoric - probable Late Neolithic-Early Bronze Age, irregular knapped rounded sub-pentagonal shape, convex/concave, medium size, variable pale grey, knapped flint, secondary debitage. Bulb of percussion with two bulbar scars and large platform created with a hard hammer, conchoidal ripples and distal hinge fracture. Two main dorsal flake beds with fine negative ripples and small patch of cortex at the distal section of one side. This is likely to date to 2500-1500BC. Refs.
