Lead possible fishing weight. Cast object of lentoid form and plano-convex section, which has been cast in a shallow oval hollow with a smooth surface leaving a series of fine concentric lines on its convex surface. This might have been a cuttlefish bone, a material also thought to have been used to make moulds to cast small objects. This reporter has seen traces of this usage on a silver mount of late medieval date (NLM-6C1202). Copper alloy weight. Cast discoid weight with an upstanding rim surmounted by circumferential lines possibly indicating finishing on a lathe, perhaps from a nesting set. The object does not closely conform to the averdepois system though its form may indicate a post-medieval date. Sets of such weights were made along with their containers in Nuremburg in the early post-medieval period.
