?Obverse description: Cross with pellet-ended arms, a pellet in each angle. Resembles Pirie 1996 Phase 2 Group C motif 2 of 837-855, also illustrated by Naylor's notes as an obverse of Archbishop Wigmund (837-854).

Copper alloy possible coin. Styca, probably irregular issue. A round thick flan with a hammered obverse resembling that of the porcupine series E sceatta series; blank on reverse. The flan is thicker than that of most stycas seen by this reporter.
Obverse description: Five concentric curls enclosing indeterminate features.
Reverse description: Smooth.
Suggested date: Early Medieval, 700-850.

An early medieval copper-alloy Northumbrian penny (styca) of an undefined ruler (inscription illegible), dating to c.AD790-870, probably post-AD810. Ref: Naismith 2017: 119-25
The coin is very badly chipped, the flan now diamond shaped with rough fractures edges, the damage removing most of the inscription and rendering much of what remains illegible and difficult to discern.

The coin is corroded, encrusted and badly chipped removing parts of the inscription which is now mostly illegible.
