Obverse inscription: Possibly [IMP CL DOM AVRELIANUS AVG] Reverse design:Securitas standing facing, holding short sceptre and resting on column.. Reverse inscription: [SE]CVRI[T AVG]. Copper alloy radiate, probably of Aurelian (AD 270-5) (Reece Period 13), probably SOLI INVICTO, Sol standing left. Probably Mint of Rome. For possible type, see RIC V, pt 1, p. 271, no. 54. This coin was originally identified as Gordian III (AD 238-44), SOL INVICTO but this appears to be an error. Without an image it is difficult to ascertain if the above record is actually correct.
