A Roman rim sherd, from a triangular rimmed dish with external burnished lattice decoration. It is definitely a product of the Roxby kiln industry as it has small fragments of brown ironstone in its fabric visible under magnification. It is a local copy of a black burnished ware form commonly produced in the south of England and should be dated to AD150-230.
