Copper alloy, silvery sheen suggests tin content. Spearhead fragment, as identified by finder. Fragment from a spearhead with an ogival section produced by a prominent mid-rib. The angle of the sides suggests an original length in excess of 100mm. Bent along its length, broken at both ends and now heavily abraded. Suggested date: Later Bronze Age, 1200-800 BC. Length: 31.7mm, Width: 16.8mm, Thickness: 7.9mm, Weight: 9.23gms.

: Iron Spear head. Wrought iron leaf shaped spearhead with split socket. The broad blade is of a flat lentoid section without mid rib, in this respect being typical of Anglo-Saxon rather than earlier insular forms. Probably an example of Swanton's (1973) Class C; the apparent proportions between blade and socket may suggest C1. The possible straw impressions in corrosion products on one side of the blade may suggest deposition in close contact with that material, and hint at the further survival of mineral preserved organic evidence within the haft. A small fresh break was noted at …

Leaf shaped blade, pursul remains of a socket. The blade was never sharpened and the socket was welded to the blade, so it is probably an ornamental spearhead.

Iron probable spearhead fragment. Wrought iron spearhead comprising one half of a robust socket tapering in its internal diameter from 17mm to 7.5mm, and the base of its blade, now of sub-rhomboid form with angled shoulders, but with an uncertain, possibly limited, extent lost from its tip. If the robusticity of the socket and the shortness of the blade are deemed representative of the original object, rather than of the accretion of corrosion products, an alternative function as a spoon bit might be entertained. Suggested date: possibly Medieval, 1100-1350. Length: 123.4mm, Width …

Iron spearhead. Wrought iron with a butted seam straight socket and a flat leaf shaped blade with shoulders set at circa 45 degrees to the socket; the thickness of the blade diminishes rapidly from where it joins the socket, and it is only circa 3mm thick at its surviving end. Heavily corroded and lightly bent. The mass indicates almost all metal formerly present has been lost, and what remains is mainly rust. The form of the object appears to resemble a spearhead, and the finder kindly observes that it is close to that of Late Iron Age examples on display at the North Lincolnshi…
