Copper alloy. Bull Ring. Cast semicircular or D-shaped oval-section loop comprising a curved bar and a straight hinged arm. The loop is expanded and flattened at both its ends; one for a hinged junction with one end of the bar the bar, and the other for insertion through a slot in the other end of that bar. The latter terminal bears an aperture of diameter 4.5mm diameter which would permit the ring to be locked. The round sectioned bars presumably permitted the object to be threaded through a beast's nose without causing discomfort. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1500-1800. Length…
