Steel and stone.
Revolver. A small 'hand-bag-sized' revolver with a polished stone handle of two plano-convex plates secured by flat copper alloy rivets. Probably of 6mm or 0.22 inch calibre with a six shot revolving magazine. Suggested date: Modern, 1930-1960. Corroded. This object was kindly recorded by Cameron Brown.

Copper alloy handle fragment, possibly from a post-medieval or modern pistol or other weapon. Cast plano-convex section straight-sided tapered object fragment with deeply cross-cut decoration producing a pattern or rhomboids across its surface, broken at either end, perhaps across a fixing point at the wider end. Now slightly curved, though whether this is an original feature is unclear. The patterning might be apt to a function as a side plate for a grip handle from which this piece has become detached. Copper alloy object, kindly identified as part of a pistol or musket of English manufacture by Kevin Leahy. Kevin comments as follows: 'I think I know what this is: the long lug with a pin through it is typical of the way that English guns were fixed together and I think that what you've got is a bit of trigger guard from a flintlock or percussion gun'.
Cast curved plate with U-shaped ends, one broader than the other, and with a long U-shaped lug projecting from its concave side. The lug has a filled drilled hole of diameter c.2mm, suggesting the object pivoted when in use. A fur…
