Copper alloy Possible Peg. Cast bifurcated object with a collared ball head above a pair of tapered prongs set 2.6mm apart; the prongs retain tensile strength to grip an object inserted between them; one is perhaps chipped at its end. The overall appearance resembles that of an extracted tooth. Abraded. Suggested date: Roman, 40-400. Length: 18.7mm, Diameter (ball head): 8.3mm, Thickness (at prongs): 6.6mm, Weight: 3.36gms.
