Copper alloy sheet.
Fitting fragment from an object of thin sheet metal, with a regular circular hole (of diameter 7.74mm) at its rounded end, torn at the other. Appears to be one half of two, forming an object comprising at least three elements (i.e. two halves and that object engaging the hole). An elongated teardrop-shaped concavo-convex moulding may be a deliberately formed feature, and might suggest this to have been decorated for a domestic setting. Suggested date: Post-Medieval to Modern, 1700-1900. Length: 63.02mm, Width: 19.22mm, Thickness (of sheet): 1.10mm. Weight: 11.42 gms.
