Amphora fragment. A buff fabric with a reduced grey core, with beige surfaces and quartz inclusions. A large sherd comprising one quarter of the rim of a large handled storage jar with an estimated rim diameter of 200mm and an aperture of estimated diameter 110mm. Part of one of a pair of curved handles springs from below the rim, and then descend towards its union with the body wall [lost]. A stamped rectangular panel on the upper side of th handle bears initials read as I P F T. This sherd was kindly identified by Helen Fry of the North Lincolnshire Pottery Research Group. Suggested…
