A fragment of a post medieval cloth seal. Only a fragment of the two part disc survives and on the front disc are the remains of an off struck inscription [LE]. On the back of the seal is an integral rivet and the remains of the second disc. The surviving diameter is 13.9mm, the width is 5.9mm and the weight is 2.99g.

An incomplete post medieval lead cloth seal. Disc one of the two-part seal is complete but worn. It as the crown over shield with arms of England, E (R) to sides and the inscription around the edge reads [S’VLII’PA]O’VIALLE’LON’’ (Seal of the alnage of saleable cloths of London. Disc two only survives in a fragmentary state, but would originally had a ridged cross with sword in first quarter (arms of London) in ronate shield. Around the edge none of the inscription survives, but it would have read [LONDINI PRO PANNIS LANICIS] (for woollen cloths in London).

This is the city of Bristol’s coat of arms. The legend around the edge of the seal is almost illegible. However, some of the letters may read […].A.S[…]. The reverse of the seal has a worn rivet with a crown above a fleur-de-lis. The surviving diameter is 27.8mm and the weight is 8.30g.

A four disc lead cloth seal. Both of the inner discs are stamped with seal. One face has the national arms consisting of a long cross with a device in each quarter. The other disc has a version of the Clothworkers Company that consists of two chevrons with saltires, and two shearmen's hooks in chief. The two outer discs still retain an integral rivet. The inner disc has a diameter of 12.8mm, the outer disc has a diameter of 11.1mm and the weight is 8.63g.

A complete post medieval Rotterdam import lead cloth seal. The two part cloth seal has the city arms on disc 1 which includes a river flowing palewise and in chief, quarterly, four lions. Around the edge of the shield is a fragmentary inscription which would include the city name. On disc 2 are the remains of a large letter ‘R’. The diameter is 23.7mm and the weight is 8.68g.

The outer faces of the object bear textile imprints; these are indistinct on the face of the larger disc, but well defined on the smaller disc. This suggests that the seal was attached to a bolt of fairly coarsely woven fabric. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1500-1650. Diameter (long axis): 24.6mm, Thickness (overall): 2.8mm, Weight: 5.84gms.
