It is an irregular, smooth, rounded shape and has a circular hole through it (about 1mm diameter) nearer to one end. The bead is 3mm long and 2.7mm in diameter. It weighs 0.1g. Garnets are frequently found on the Thames foreshore (LON-0C7DE2 for example) and another worked garnet bead is LON-0335F7, but they can seldom be dated without additional context.

A complete polychrome glass bead of late Roman to Early-Medieval date, c.AD 300 - 650. The bead is bi-conical body that is 12mm in diameter in the centre and tapers 7mm at either end. The bead is made from black glass that has been decorated with two bands of applied chevrons formed from the first application of zigzagging white glass which is then overlayed with offset zigzagging yellow glass, both of which run around the waste of the bead. On one end is an applied double band of yellow glass that runs around the circumference, with a triple band of yellow glass at the opposite end.

A modern bead, possibly of glass or other materials, dating from AD 1900 - 2023. The bead is oval in plan and roughly circular in section. There are two small perforations visible in one end. The centre of the bead is black at one end, and slightly soft, perhaps plastic or rubber.  It is surrounded by a white crystalline material which covers the other end. This has an outer shell (of paint or plastic?) of dark blue, which is peeling at one end. The bead is opaque. The bead measures 12.7mm in length, 7.1mm in diameter and weighs 0.6g.

A complete worn annular glass bead of unknown date.  The globular annular bead is slightly bi-conical and irregular in form. The perforation (4.86mm in diameter at widest point); is predominantly circular but with a straight edge (2.21mm long) on one side. The glass is opaque and pale blue and appears speckled as the matrix is full of bubbles, the outside surfaces pitted with occasional voids from larger bubbles.
