 A Post Medieval lead two disc cloth seal made from two discs of lead held together with a lead strip, dating from AD 1700 - 1900. A central integral rivet from the back of one disc passes through a hole in the other disc and is stamped flat. The seal has the legend R&I in relief on the obverse with the number 829 stamped above it. The imprint of the cloth is visible on the other face. Measurements are; diameter 24.8mm, thickness 2.5mm and weight 7.83g. Compare SUR-51F7A9.

The spindle whorl is sub-conical in form, with one flat face and one face with one rounded face.  The whorl has a cream patina and is undecorated. Measurements are; diameter 26.9mm, thickness 6.9mm and weight 24.76g.  The central hole has a diameter of 11.1mm. Form A1 whorls are dated by Walton Rogers to AD 500 - 1000. Those with a central perforation of 11mm are more likely to be from the late Anglo Saxon period.

The discs are connected by a central integral flattened rivet which passes through a hole in the other disc and projects outwards and by a broken connecting loop at one side. A bulla type, lead bag seal dating from the late Medieval or early modern period, about AD1890 - 1920. One side is impressed with a Star of David and the other side carries the number 166, 136 or 186. Seals with these markings are regular detector finds in Yorkshire and are probably from bags of guano or phosphate fertilisers. Leeds Phosphate Works used the Star of David motif and the number on the reverse is probably a batch number. The seal is 16.63mm long, 14.35mm wide and 3.38mm thick. it weighs ?g. It is flat in profile, and sub-triangular in plan, with curved sides and rounded corners. The edges are bevelled. The reverse is pitted, perhaps from the casting process. The narrow end is perforated with an irregular hole of 3-5mm diameter. The weight is 41.9mm long, 23.9mm wide and 5.9mm thick. It  weighs 36.4g. The mass does not obviously fit into standard units of measurement, but the weight may have been used to add mass, such as a line or net weight.

It is slightly over mass to be a half ounce weight (which should be 14.1g), though it could be a half ounce in the Apothecaries' system. It is often suggested that objects of this shape are beads or net or line weights for fishing or birding.

A complete Post Medieval uniface lead flax or hemp bale seal dating from about AD 1700-1900. There is a slot of sub-rectangular section running through the seal from edge to edge.  The obverse bears a cross keys design, arms associated with the Baltic port of Riga. A small lead probable token dating from AD 1550 - 1800. It is circular and uniface and has a design in relief that could be interpreted as a wineglass or chalice, so it has been assigned to Powell type 11. It could also be an uppercase letter Y. The reverse of the disc is rough and has a raised rim - it perhaps did not cast properly and may one have been a biface token. Measurments are; diameter 12.4mm, thickness 3.0mm and weight 2.13g.

A two disc, or the outer discs of a four disc lead cloth seal dating from the Medieval to Post-Medieval period, about AD 1350 - 1724, probably 1702 - 1714.  The two discs are fastened by a rivet that passes through a hole in the centre of one disc, and is then squashed flat.  Most of the disc with the hole in it is missing, leaving only the disc with the rivet and the stamped and flattened rivet. A small lead perforated weight of probably Medieval to Post Medieval date, about AD 1350 - 1700. It is a sub-conical weight with a small circular hole from apex to centre of base.  Measurements are; length 13.7mm, diameter at the base 17.2mm and weight 17.81g.  There is a hole running through the length of the object which is 1.6mm in diameter. The mass could, allowing for a missing suspension loop, be inetded to represent 12 pennyweight in the English Troy system (18.7g) which was in use from the 1350s.

The casting seam and sprue are both visible, and the sprue was trimmed once with nippers. The measurements are; diameter 16.5mm and weight 24.51g. One side is decorated with two areas of rocker arm or zig zag motif.
