An early medieval pyramidal mount, possibly from a sword scabbard, dating to the mid-sixth to seventh century. The mount is hollow, and pyramid shaped with a square base and four trapezoidal sides. An integral rectangular bar would have run transversely across the base; however, the bar has since become detached and was found as a separate piece. The apex is flat with an empty cell, which likely held a decorative setting which is now missing. Each face is decorated with the same motif in shallow relief: an incised ring and dot motif with a trapezoidal border of incised parallel lines. …

An incomplete silver zoomorphic strap end, of early medieval date (c. AD 800 - 925). The decorative detail is similar to a Thomas class A, type 1 style strap end. The strap end is flat and is sub rectangular with an old break at one end; the split end is missing as is the decorative panel which is common with this type. The decoration on the face was roughly incised with a chisel. It has a moulded zoomorphic terminal, representing an animal head with large round ears and circular eye sockets, one of which still holds a clear stone or crystal. The rounded snout is decorated with two cir…

The decoration consists of a cross with narrow arms, which join a circumferential line, part of which is lost to corrosion. In each of the quarters created by the cro…
