A raised lip is present around the bezel. To either side of the bezel the shoulders narrow width and taper in thickness before both terminate in worn breaks. Copper alloy buckle. Cast double looped asymmetrical frame with a rounded outer loop and a trapezoid inner loop. The outer loop has a small knop on either side of its outer edge, a small knop at each end of the strap bar, and the inner loop has a ribbed inner edge. An incomplete machine-made silver thimble of modern date, c.AD 1850 – 1950. The thimble is flattened and folded with the dome lost to old worn breaks. The upper half of the thimble is decorated with regular tessellating hexagonal pits. The lower half displays foliate decoration formed of stippling and machine pressed grooves. The rim is folded over. The metal has a dark grey patina and is in fair condition. The object is 22.6mm long, 14.9mm wide, 4.9mm thick and weighs 3.1g.
