A length of copper alloy decorated with punched crescents. It is probably one arm from a set of tweezers, of Roman to Medieval date, AD 43 - 1500, but perhaps more likely to be Roman or Early Medieval. The object is a flat rectangular piece of metal, bent at one end into a U shape. The other arm is missing. The other end tapers to a rounded point - this is probably damage. The front face is decorated with two rows of stamped crescents. The object is 39.1mm long, 5.6mm wide, 3.0mm thick and weighs 1.46g.
