Flint leaf arrowhead fragment, triangular in plan and rod shaped in profile. The right margin has a finely serrated edge. The proximal end is snapped. The ventral side has some retouching on the end. It is dark grey brown with pale flecks in colour. Mercer (1981) illustrates a similar example on page 127, Fig. 55, No. L80 which is dated to the Neolithic period.

A leaf-shaped arrowhead formed on a mottled grey coloured coarse flint or possibly chert of probable Neolithic date (2900 - 2150 BC). The arrowhead is lentoid (sub-rectangular) in plan and lentoid in cross section. Both faces of the arrowhead have been pressure (ripple) flaked with a series of small neat narrow facets. Much of this rippled surface has been flaked with much skill (especially given the poor nature of the flint). A thin lenticular section bifacially worked piece of cream flecked grey brown flint. Pressure flaking has covered both sides with flake scars. The plan has bilateral symmetry with a transverse snap.The edge is nearly straight and the arrowhead may have snapped in use or at very close to completion whilist trying to remove a long flake. The pointed end is missing leaving the base of what would have been a pair shaped leaf arrowhead. Other leafs and transverse types are found nearby.

A complete leaf shaped arrowhead dating to the early Neolithic period, (circa 3500-2500 BC). The arrowhead is lozenge (pointed oval) in shape and lentoid in cross section. The dorsal and ventral faces of the arrowhead have been extensively and delicately worked with neat well-formed pressure / ripple flakes. There are no visible signs of use. The flint is a poor quality mottled pale grey colour with fine orange veins passing through it. The selection of the flint with this distinctive vein could represent a deliberate aesthetic choice. An incomplete flint leaf shaped arrowhead of Neolithic date (C. 4500-2500 BC). The arrowhead is kite shaped, type 1C. It has been invasively retuched by pressure flaking across both the dorsal and ventral surfaces. There is some more recent damage with a notched flake on one edge and the tip is lost. The flint ground colour is a light olive grey, with a mottled pale grey surface patina and some orange staining. It is 32.5mm in length, 17.1mm in width, 3.75mm in thickness and weighs 2.19g.

A leaf arrowhead, dark grey and brown in colour, which has been bi-facially retouched and is a formalised tool Both lateral margins of the dorsal face exhibit continuous retouch of low angle which borders on invasive and possesses a scaled morphology. This retouch is repeated on the ventral face. The tool appears to have been snapped at the left margin and proximal end intersect on the dorsal face. Butler (2005) illustrates a similar example on p133, Fig 5.119, F36 which dates to the Early Neolithic.

One face shows covering, scaled and parallel low angle retouch, the opposing face shows invasive, scaled, low angle retouch extending around all margins. The base of the object is flat with a hinge fracture indicating a possible break post manufacture, the tip appears to be missing but has not snapped off as retouch is visible over the area. The flint is opaque, light brown and has an all over low-gloss patina. Date: Early Neolithic  4000 BC to 3300 BC. Dimensions : 28mm x 15.5mm x 3mm. Weight : 1.7g.
