A greensand chert blade of probable Neolithic date. The blade, which is a tertiary flake (no cortex remaining), measures 75.5mm by 30.1mm by 12.7mm and weighs 24.5g. The proximal end including the striking platform has broken off, but there are ripples on the ventral surface and the lateral edges are broadly parallel with longitudinal arrises on the dorsal surface.

The blade is probably dated to the Neolithic period. It has been knapped from a chert-like stone, which is a mottled mid grey colour. In plan the blade is triangular with the bulb of percussion at the top edge. In profile it is mainly triangular with the upper portion forming a trapezoidal shape in profile. The tip is slightly rounded, but appears to be worn, and not damaged. It is 73.4mm long, 29.4mm wide, 9.7mm thick and weighs 16.89g.

Middle of a knapped chert tertiary blade probably of Mesolithic to Neolithic date. Straight snap at the proximal end, chipped edges and distal end. There are clear percussion ripples on the ventral face and scars from removals of two parallel blades from the same platform on the dorsal face. There is no obvious retouch and it is not clear if the snap is deliberate. Dark brown chert. 19.6mm long, 12.5mm wide and 3.0mm thick. It weighs 0.77 grams.

Distal end of a knapped chert tertiary blade of possibly Neolithic or Mesolithic date. The bulb of percussion is missing but percusison ripples are visible on the ventral face. There are scars from previous parallel removals from the same platform on the dorsal face. There is an irregular break at the proximal end. The edges are chipped but there is no unambiguous retouch. The chert is mid grey with darker mottling. It is 22.6mm long by 14.3mm wide by 4.7mm thick; it weighs 1.59 grams.

One snapped section of a knapped chert blade. Middle section with snaps both ends. Dark grey mottled chert with white patination. One break is unpatinated and the other partially so suggesting they are more recent that the rest of the working. 20.6mm long, 14.9mm wide, 3.8mm thick, 1.24g. While the debitage is not dateable on it's own the high proportion of relatively wide blades found in the same area may suggest a Neolithic date for the assemblage.

Three central sections of knapped chert blades. All have clear percussion ripples on the ventral face and arises and percussion lines from previous flake and blade removals from the same direction on the same core on the dorsal face. The breaks are mostly irregular with only one clear snap. The snapped piece has developed a surface patina after knapping but the snap is unpatinated suggesting it is modern. The breaks on the other patinated piece also appear to be partially modern. Ignoring the white patination one is in a mid buff chert, one in mid grey and one in a dark grey (the unpa…
