A fragment of a Neolithic polished axe of Group VI Great Langdale volcanic tuff dating to c. 4000 - 2200 BC.
Only the cutting edge portion has survived and it is sub-rectangular in form and pointed oval in cross-section. The cutting edge has been reworked with a smoothed lateral facet or is very worn. The axe thickens towards the truncated end and there is some damage to the surviving lengths. Smooth surface with a greyish-green patina.

A Neolithic Greenstone axe presumed to be of Group VI (6), a product of the Langdale Pike axe factory. This example is an edge-polished flint axe, limited polishing it typical of the late Neolithic. It is covered in scaled and low angle flaking. The axe is pointed oval in cross-section and is broadly sub-rectangular, with a rounded polished cutting edge and a tapered, abraded and rounded butt.

Flat striking platform at the proximal end and a raised bulb of percussion with bulbar scar; it has weak conchoidal ripple marks on the ventral face indicating it has been struck by a soft hammer. The dorsal face has surviving cortex covering c.60% of the surface. There is evidence of retouch on the dorsal face edge with short, stepped, low angle retouch. Slight positive hing fracture at the top, rather thana rounded end/feathered out terminal.

A near-complete flint barbed and tanged arrowhead dating to the late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age. The arrowhead has covering, scaled, low angle retouch all over and is missing only the terminal of the shank and of one of the barbs. The flint is mottled grey with a cream-blue patina.
Arrowheads of this type were in use during the "Beaker Period" of the Late (final) Neolithic to Early Bronze Age, 2,300 to 1,700 BC.

A Neolithic stone axehead or hammerstone, dating from circa 3500-2100 BC. Tear-drop in shape, the axehead was probably made by grinding the stone. Its 'cutting edge' has an irregular curve and one side of the object is much flatter than the other, suggesting it may have been unfinished. The shape of the butt, now uncertain due to damage, has a number of chips, which suggests it may have been used as a hammerstone. The dorsal surface contains three predominant negative scars. It has a rounded distal end and the proximal end comes to a narrow sub-trapezoidal point. There is some modern damage on the distal end and on the left side. There is no retouch, and the ventral face shows faint conchoidal ripples. It is a tertiary flake and the flint is pale brown in colour with a mottled grey to white patina.

A small damaged possible polished flint axehead. The object is sub-rectangular in plan and pointed oval in section. The head of the axe flares to the cutting edge, which curves outwards. The cutting edge is damaged with c. 40 % remaining and there is also an abrupt transverse break across the butt end. There are scratches on the surface on both sides of the axehead. Invasive retouch can be seen on the surface on each side, along the edges and across the blade end. This may suggest that the axe was modified at some point and possibly reused. Flint scraper, probably of Neolithic date, dating from about 4000 BC - 2200 BC. It is sub-triangular in shape and concavo-convex is cross section, it curves and tapers to a narrow rounded distal end.
The ventral surface is concave with a small bulb of percussion situated at the proximal end with slight ripples. The dorsal side has flake scars and either long side have fine, short, abrupt, parallel retouch. The distal end has been knapped into a point with retouch on both the ventral and dorsal sides.
