A flint tool, a borer probably dating from the Neolithic period. The tool is basically rectangular in plan with a triangular pointed projection in the centre of one long side (the distal end). There is cortex remaining on the right side of the proximal end. This makes it tool formed on a secondary flake. The borer is 55.45mm long x 34.63mm wide x 20.80mm thick. The width is reduced to 16.44mm half way down the length due to retouching to form the pointed projection, and there is more steep retouching at its point. Flint implement, hardly patinated, probably an early Neolithic laurel-leaf shaped flint arrowhead (comp. Bond 2004, fig. 5.120). The object is in very good condition and hardly patinated. It was knapped from brown opaque, translucent flint and shows retouch on both ventral and dorsal faces as well as around the edges. There is a well-defined bulb of percussion and remains of a prepared striking platform. The ripples of percussion can be seen below the bulb of percussion. There is some secondary retouch around two-thirds of the cutting edge of the flake, indicating that this scraper may have been used as a thumb scraper.

A neolithic thumb scraper, with evidence of retouch. The bulb of percussion and striking platform are both evident, but have been damaged. Numerous blade flakes have been removed from both surfaces. The flint is flawed. Some natural cortex survives. The scraper measures 33.8mm x 27.6mm x 13mm.

A crude Neolithic thumb scraper / crude leaf-shaped arrowhead, with evidence of retouch. The striking platform, the bulb of percussion and ripples have been removed. Numerous blade flakes have been removed from both surfaces. The tool has had multiple flakes removed from the surface, forming medium arrises. The flint has a number of flaws within its structure and so may have been discarded for this reason.

A Neolithic axe (or possibly an adze). The axe dates from between circa 3500 BC to 2100 BC. The implement has been extensively knapped and highly polished into a sub-oval shape. The stone is a fine-grained volcanic ash probably from the Lake District. One terminal is slightly pointed; the other (the butt) is rounded. The butt end has been damaged and a large chunk has been removed, this probably happened relatively recently. No natural cortex is visible on the surface of the axe. An Early Neolithic multi-purpose flint tool. The flint is 75.4mm long, 46.3mm wide and 13.9mm thick. The oval flint is worked on all edges. The sides are worked from both faces and so could have been used for cutting. The ends are abruptly retouched making scraped surfaces. The striking platform has been removed in the subsequent working. The dorsal face is mostly covered with cortex. The flint is mottled grey.
