White flint (patinated overall) polished axe fragment. Flint axe comprising a sub-ovoid axe head with one straight side, possibly from an ancient break. The flint bears either large hard hammer flake removal scars or similarly abrupt damage over all other areas except that near the cutting edge, and these confer the appearance of a particularly graceless Mesolithic Seamer-style axe. However, the cutting edge is curved and finely polished on both sides, and this feature commends a Neolithic date. The ventral surface is smooth with the bulb of percussion and striking platform having been removed. The dorsal surface is also smooth though retains 95% of its cortex and has extensive shallow retouch around the distal edge. The flint is a dark bluish-grey colour. A complete knapped lithic implement of Neolithic date. The implement is a scraper formed from a secondary flake which is sub-ovate in both plan and section. Both surfaces are irregular having had numerous flakes of varying sizes removed. Shallow, invasive retouch is present along the distal portion and a patch of creamy brown cortex is retained on the dorsal surface. The flint is a mid bluish-grey colour with chalky inclusions. The implement is 55.6mm long, 46.7mm wide, 17.2mm thick and weighs 46.1g.

Both surfaces are irregular with the dorsal surface retaining its cortex. Minimal retouch is present around the edges. The flint is a dark grey colour with lighter inclusions. The implement is 84.5mm long, 62.6mm wide, 18.7mm thick and weighs 89g. Scrapers are fairly ubiquitous throughout prehistory and are generally less chronologically distinctive than other artefact types.
