A fragment probably from the blade end of a polished stone axehead of Neolithic date (c. 4000 - 2350 BC). The fragment appears to be the corner of the blade end of the axehead, with a diagonal break at the top end of the fragment. A further horizontal break is evident at the base of the fragment. A section of the tapered cutting edge is evident with ground and polished sides. The axehead is made of a fine grained igneous rock, possibly dolerite, and is rough with quartz inclusions.
