A complete annular blue glass bead dating from the Iron Age to early Medieval period c. 100 BC to AD 750
The glass contains small bubbles which is consistant with a handmade wound beads produced over a small furnace and wound on an iron mandrel. The perforation has been worn on one side suggesting the bead may have been worn on a cord or chain for a period of time.

An incomplete bead, probably dating to the Late Iron Age to Early Roman period c. 1 - 200 AD .
The surviving fragment is of a dark blue and red glass and comprises of roughly one third of the bead. Whirl decoration exists on the outer of the bead in a style seen on beads of La Tene type, although the colours used of red and blue are unusual. The approximate diameter of the bead is c 22.2mm. The fragment is sub triangular in profile, and D-shaped in cross section. The breaks to the bead are unpatinated.

Small blue glass bead dating from the late Iron Age to the Roman period. It is a medium sized generic bead. This type is particularly common in the late Iron Age and the Roman Period. Some are also known on early Anglo-Saxon necklaces.
The bead is sub-spherical in plan with flattened ends and a central hole. The surface of the object has been chipped and scratched. The bead contains small white inclusions.The internal diameter of the perforation measures 3.45mm.

An incomplete blue glass bead of an Oldbury type. The object is bun shaped and is decorated with three white swirls. Only one half of the bead survives however it appears to be a modern break. The object appears to be capped, ie different glass on the outside and on the core, which is quite rare. The bead can be classified as Guideo Class 6, M.Guido, The Glass Beads of the Prehistoric and Roman Periods in Britain and Ireland (1978)53-57 and 112-117(schedules).

The edges of the aperture are curved and convex creating a D shaped cross-section to the hoop. The bead is heavily pitted with damage. A monochrome blue wound glass bead of any undefined era. Similar glass beads have been produced since the early Iron Age to post medieaval periods.
The bead displays signs of wear on the sides suggesting it was worn with other beads or similar on cordage as the central perferation is worn on two sides.
The bead appears to have been produced by winding molten glass around a mandrel or iron rod over a small furnace. The bead is slightly uneven suggesting a variation in the heat when produced, which is characteristic of hand made glass beads.

An Iron Age-Roman glass bead, dating 800BC - AD100. Approximately half of the bead remains, the breaks appear to be recent damage. The bead was circular with a circular perforation measuring 8.66mm diameter. It is made from dark blue glass with white spirals on the exterior surface which are flush with the surface of the bead and not forming a nodule which can occur on other examples. The spirals vary in thickness and size.

There is a prominent ridge around the central axis of the band from which the sides taper to the edges unevenly. The bead measures 11.06 external diameter. The band is 4.91 mm wide and 2.7mm thick. The object weighs 1.36 grams.

The bead is near-complete with a crack evident across the face and with surface flaking around the crack and around the perforation (with a length of 8.9mm and a weight of 1.5g). Copper alloy bead. Cast biconical bead with a central moulded aperture of diameter 4.8mm, filled by ferrous corrosion. A circumferential mid-rib passes around the meeting of the two convex halves, and is recurrently chipped or billeted. The combination of iron and copper alloy is typical of Iron Age horse-gear and sword furniture, while the hole in the bead seems over-large for stringing as an ornament. Suggested date: Late Iron Age, 100 BC-AD43.
