A gold Iron Age quarter stater of the Western Region / Dobunni, dating to the period c.60-20 BC, 'Sunburst Little Horse' type. Obverse: Wreath, spike with three large pellets and sunburst across, crescents below. Reverse: Triple-tailed annulate horse right, cogwheel sun above, small animal(?) below. Measurements: 12.5mm in diameter and 1.37g in weight. Discussion: Coin is die linked to type specimen for ABC 396, coin 08.9227 (CCI?).
