The interlace is abstract, with no animal elements identifiable, but there is evidence of gilding. The reverse is undecorated and has corrosion. The catchplate and pin are missing. The pin is 45.4mm in length with a rounded sub rectangular cross section and a small ridged transverse grip at the junction with the loop which likely aided with the operation of the buckle.
