A cast copper alloy fitting of uncertain form, function and date. The item is broadly circular in plan and plano-convex (D shaped) in cross section - it is broadly trumpet shaped. From the apex of the dome a single sub-circular bar extends, this is broken flush with the surface of the item. Silver Gilt Dress Hook fragment, Read Class D Type 6. A denticulated back plate retains three hemispherical boses with rings of granulated decoration. The cruciform brooch on the drawing has a surviving full-round top knob which should date the brooch to the fifth century.
