A worn continental silver sterling imitation of a Medieval Edwardian type penny. This is a 'crockard', struck by John I, Duke of Brabant and Limburg, between 1267 and 1294.  The coin is complete but with some damage to the bottom edge. The obverse shows a crowned bust facing, wearing a chaplet of roses, inscribed I(..)ABA[N]TIE. The reverse has a long cross pattee dividing the legend with three pellets in each angle, inscribed BRV XEL [LEN] SIS      Initial mark: Cross. Mint:Brussels
