Obverse: ELIZABETH.D.G.ANG.FR.ET.HI.REGINA; Crowned bust left with a rose behind the head Reverse: POSVI/DEV.AD/IVTORE/M.MEV (I have made God my Helper); Square shield on long cross fourchée dividing the inscription with date of 1565 above shield Diameter: 24.2mm. Weight: 2.23g. DA=12:11.

A clipped silver coin of Elizabeth I, possibly a threefarthings dating to the period AD 1561 to 1582. The obverse depicts a crowned bust right and is surrounded by the legend although this is now illegible. The reverse depicts a square shield over a long cross fourchée. The legend is again illegible. Hammered threefarthings were only produced during the second coinage of Elizabeth I which dates between 1561 and 1582.
