A silver post Medieval coin; a groat of Elizabeth I, probably first issue (1558-61). The obverse is in very poor condition, with the outline of the bust only just discernable. The presence of a rose behind the bust cannot be determined, and the initial mark is faint, although possibly a martlet. See North vol. 2, 1986.
