Silver coin. Halfgroat of Elizabeth I (1558-1603), as kindly identified by the finder, probably fifth issue of 1582-1600, possibly 1584-1586. Lightly bent to S profile as a possible keepsake.
Obverse description: Bust left, two pellets behind head.
Obverse inscription: E.D.G.ROSA.SINE.SPINA
Reverse description: Shield of Arms, long cross. Mintmark possibly escallope (79)
Reverse inscription: CIVI/TAS/LON/DON
