Sixpence of Elizabeth I dating from 1577. Was 1576, but number '6' was punched over with 7. Third/fourth issue. Mintmark: eglantine. The change in date from 76 to 77 is due to the die having been put into use at a later date as was the mark (in this case an eglantine) which dates the coin and not the actual date and the date was added when the die was engraved and the mark added as the die was about to be put into operation.
