A three farthing silver coin of Elizabeth I (AD 1558-1603). Belongs to either the second issue (AD 1561-1582) or the milled issue. Obverse: Crowned bust left. Inscription illegible but would have read E D G ROSA SINE SPINA. Reverse: Square shield on long cross. Inscription reads [CIV]I[TAS LON]DO[N]. London mint. It measures 13.12mm in diameter and weighs 0.53g. North, J. J. 1991. English Hammered Coinage, Volume 2: Edward I to Charles II 1272-1662, page 135 ref. 2002 or page 138 ref. 2038.

Silver three farthings coin of Elizabeth I. North 2002. This coin was struck during the second issue, 1561-1582. The coin is dated 1567, but mint marked with a pheon which ends in 1565. This is presumably an error by the die cutter.
