A worn, incomplete and undated silver sixpence of Elizabeth I (1558-1603). Probably third issue (1561-1577). Obverse has very faint outline of left facing bust and traces of rose behind head. The reverse has squared shield on long cross fourchee and is undated. The coin is 21.9mm in diameter and weighs 1.3g.

Obverse is left facing bust, which is very worn, as are the pellets that form the inner circle of the obverse. The reverse only shows a small amount of wear. Reverse is cross fourcee over royal shield. ​The obverse inscription is; ELIZA[BETH] D G [AN] FR ET.HI REGINA . ​The reverse inscription is: POSVI [D]EV AD IVTORE M MEV. The mintmark is a badly struck cross-crosslet (1560-1)
