Post Medieval Coin: Worn, pierced and broken silver coin, possibly three halfpence or penny, of Elizabeth I (1558-1603). The coin has been broken in two rather than delibrately cut as the edge shows sign of a sprained break & is not entirely straight. Unfortunately due to the loss of the top of the shield on the reverse and the piercing, in the area behind the head, on the obverse it isn't possible to say whether the coin had either a date above the shield or a rose behind the head so the denomination of the coin cannot be confidently identified.
