Copper alloy contemporary copy of a silver shilling of Elizabeth I. Uncertain mint mark, possibly bell (ie minted 1582-3 as part of the fifth issue). Because of this uncertainty however the coinage issue it is copying cannot be ascertained with confidence, for this reason the coin is dated to the whole Elizabethan period 1558-1603. No traces of silvering remain on the surface of the coin.
