An incomplete silver threepence coin of Elizabeth I, AD 1558-1603. The obverse shows an unclear crowned bust left with rose behind head. Obverse legend reads: ELIZA[BETH] D G ANG. FR.ET.HI.RE[GINA]. Some of the edge of the flan has broken away from the coin. This break extends along the circumference for c.11.8mm into the flan for a maximum depth of 2.2mm. Viewing the obverse surface, the break starts at approximately 10 o'clock at the maximum depth and tapers to the edge above the 'E' of Elizabeth. An incomplete silver coin, probably a Post-Medieval sixpence of Elizabeth I, AD 1558-1603. Only approximately one quarter of the flan survives. What does remain of this coin is extremely worn, bent with a crack running across it and and has had all tarnish cleaned off of it.. As such very little of what is probably the lower left side of a 'crowned bust left' is barely visible in raking light. The obverse legend reads: [...]G'.[...].
