A silver shilling of Elizabeth I, AD 1558-1603. Obverse shows an unclear crowned bust left. Obverse legend reads :ELIZAB.D.G.'ANG.[FR].ET.HIB.REGI' with initial mark 2 .Reverse shows a long cross fourchee over the royal shield. Reverse legend reads :POSVI/DE'AD/IVTORE/M.MEV.' with initial mark 2 . The initial mark '2' is dated to the sixth issue, AD 1601-1602. Die axis is 11 o'clock.
This coin is slightly bent in two opposing directions and could possibly be described as having an angular 'S' shaped profile to the flan.
