A worn and clipped post-medieval silver sixpence of Elizabeth I (AD 1558-1603), Third Coinage (1583-1603). The coin is dated 1601 but the initial mark is illegible but should be a '1'. North 2015. Reverse legend reads POSVI/ DEV AD/IV[TOREM M]EV. Reverse shows Royal shield with unclear date above: 1601. Obverse legend reads [ELIZ]AB.[D].[G ANG FR ET H]IB.R[EG]I. Obverse shows unclear crowned bust left with rose behind.

A silver half groat coin of Elizabeth I 1558-1603. Obverse: bust left facing with two pellets behind head. Legend reads E D G ROSA SINE S[PI]NA. The obverse is in good condition with significant wear only over the mintmark and area of [PI] on the legend. Slight wear obscures details of dress but ruff, hair, face and crown are clear. Obverse - Crowned bust of Queen, rose behind head; Reverse - Long Cross over Royal shield, dated c 1580 AD over top of shield There is an additional unusual feature to both the obverse, and reverse of the coin On the Obverse there is an additional Cross on top of the crown that breaks through the pelleted border. And on the Reverse there is Floral Foliage between the shield and the pelleted border
