A silver hammered halfpenny of Elizabeth I, AD1558-1603. Obverse shows portcullis. Obverse has no legend. Reverse shows solid cross with three pellets per quarter. Reverse has no legend. Die axis is uncertain but falls to 3, 6, 9 or 12 o'clock. Weight is 0.24g, diameter is 10.36mm, thickness is 0.39mm. See North, J.J. Vol.II, 1991, p.137, no.2018, third issue AD1583-1603.
