A silver six pence of Elizabeth I c. 1558 - 1603 AD. The obverse has the portrait left with rose behind, reverse with shield over long cross fourchee. The initial mark and the date are stamped over an earlier one. In this instance, 1586 over stamped with 87, over shield. The coin is very worn to the obverse, less so to the reverse with some rim damage. The obverse legend is also muddled at the 'BETH' and the reverse mintmark has a crescent over stamped by a scallop.
