Bowsher (MOLA): "The hoard was found in an organic layer within the Walbrook river valley and included a number of other probably contemporary metal objects, including military items, as well as a fragments of a seal box which might be related to the hoard. The nine coins included two Republican denarii - which may have represented military pay. "A hoard of bronze coins was found during building works during 1980 at Watling Court, Watling Street, London. The hoard was found in a leather purse (which has not survived), and twelve coins have been (recovered?) from it. There are reported to have been more, but it has not been possible to track any down. The twelve coins are all asses of Nero. Eleven were minted at Lugdunum and one at Rome. They were all minted in AD 65 or AD 66.
