A silver clipped siliqua of the House of Theodosius (possibly of Magnus Maximus, AD 383-88), probably dating to c. AD 383-88 (Reece Period 20), VIRTVS ROMANORVM, Roma seated facing. Mint of Milan. The obverse has been double stamped, reading MDP near the emperor's face. Obverse description: Pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed right Obverse inscription: Garbled from double stamp Reverse description: Roma seated front, head left, holding globe & reversed spear. Reverse inscription: VIRTVS [ROMAN]ORVM Diameter: 13.49 mm, thickness: 0.79 mm, weight: 0.78g

A plated copper alloy contemporary copy of a Roman solidus of Valentinian I dating to the period c. AD 364-367 (Reece period 19), RESTITVTOR REIPVBLICAE reverse type, depicting Emperor standing facing holding labarum and Victory on globe. Copying mint of Milan. Cf RIC Vol IX page 75, number 2(a). The copper alloy core is visible at 12 o'clock on the obverse and 6 o'clock on the reverse.

A gold solidus of Gratian (AD 367-383); VICTORIA AVGG reverse; minted at Milan during the mint's fourth period of AD 378-383. Ref: RIC Vol. IX, p. 77, no. 5d. The coin has little wear but it is slightly bent and scuffed at one point. It measures 20.6mm in diameter, 0.6mm thick and weighs 4.54g.
