A complete copper alloy roman nummus dating from the reign of Emperor Valentinian I (AD364-78), of the House of Valentinian. Obverse: bust right of emperor with pearl diademed, draped and wearing currassier. Inscription: VALENTIANVS. Reverse: Emperor advancing right dragging captive behind, carring standard, probably inscribed with a Chi-Rho (hidden by corrosion), OF/II in field. Inscription: GLORIA ROMANORVM (Glory of the Romans). The condition of the coin is fine, though as mentioned, does contain some areas of corrosion. Mint mark: CON (Arles) or (Arelatum/Constantina).
