Object type: COIN

Clipped silver siliqua, possibly a contemporary copy, of an uncertain emperor, but possibly Valentinian II (375-92), SECVRITAS [?REI PVBLICAE]; Victory advancing left holding wreath and palm. The reverse type is not used on any siliquae between 337 and 410, so it is probably a copy made from the common Valentinianic nummus with this type. See RIC IX, p. 97, no. 18a for a potential prototype.
