A Roman silver siliqua of Julian (AD 355-63), measuring 17mm and weighing 1.33g. The artefact is only half of the coin but it is suffering from some wear and the obverse legend is blundered, indicating that it is probably a contemporary forgery.
Obverse: Diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right + D N IVLIAN[ VS P F AVG].
Reverse: Wreath around + VOTIS / V / [M]VLTIS / X -/-//TCON.

Roman worn (possibly contemporary plated copy of a) Siliqua of Julian, VOT/X/MVLT/XX, prototype of Arles, 361-3. RIC VIII, c.f. no. 309. 18mm in diameter and weighing 1.71g.The National Finds Adviser wonders if this is a plated copy, or just a dis-coloured silver piece. It does appear to be clipped.
